In the early 2000s, I moved from a background in banking and ICT into the non-profit sector, where I worked from 2003 to 2010 at Amnesty International, and from 2010 to 2024 at the Finn Church Aid Foundation (FCA).
At the core of my expertise is starting new initiatives from scratch and leading the change they bring about. Examples of such initiatives include:
Launching nationwide Face-to-face fundraising already in 2003 at Amnesty International, when the method was still quite unfamiliar in Finland.
At FCA, establishing FCA Investments Ltd., an impact investment fund, and launching the Wefood surplus food store concept in Finland.
I also had the pleasure of joining the setup of the FCA’s Washington, D.C. office, and I served on the board of FCA Americas for several years after its founding.
At the end of 2024, I transitioned from the non-profit sector to explore the startup world, and in autumn 2025, I became an entrepreneur.
Foresight is my area of interest:
I have studied foresight and futures research in Helsinki, Palo Alto, and Copenhagen.
My activism focuses on structural inequalities between the Majority World (Global South) and the Minority World (Global North), and how these imbalances can be transformed.
I believe that small changes are not sufficient to solve the most urgent global challenges.
